Android Oreo 8.0: 10 best new features on your Phone

It has been 9 years since Android Operating System was created by Google. Version after version Android is getting better and Android Oreo is no different. Google has really set standards for this update. The name Oreo itself makes us want this update more and more. There are several new features rolling out with the update and believe me, they are awesome.

Android Oreo 8.0 Features

The update was released on August 21 but is only available for high-end Google devices for now. Devices from Samsung, OnePlus, Moto, Lenovo, HTC, Huawei, Nokia, LG, and Sony will get the updates by end of this year.

In this article, we will dig out all the new and amazing features offered by Android Oreo and also list the devices which are announced to get the Oreo update sooner or later. If you love music then you must download Spotify Premium Apk.

Features of Android Oreo

#1. User Interface

Whenever we talk about any new update, the first thing that comes to our mind is how is it going to look. Well, Oreo features a few changes in the User Interface but you won’t notice much. The theme is almost the same and everything is still material design. The most noticeable change is the changes brought in Settings menu, many of the settings have been moved around for a better and easy experience. Fonts have changed, colors are different and the notification panel has a few changes too.

#2. Customization of App Icons

One of the things I personally loved about Oreo is how you can customize different icons according to your will. It comes with the Setting ‘Change icon shape’ and you get five options, system default, square, rounded square, squircle, and teardrop. We imagine there will be more rolling out with time.

#3. Picture in Picture

The best feature. The Picture in Picture mode is the most noticeable feature of Android Oreo. With this option, you can put whatever video you are watching through a small window that you can move around on the screen. This takes multitasking to a whole other level. You can watch any video you want while doing any other task on the phone. GoDaddy coupon renewal

#4. Notification Dots

Android has officially caught up this department. Many customized UIs had this feature, but stock Android gets this feature in Oreo. If an app has a notification, a little dot will appear on it. You can long press the icon to see the notification along with different options. You can even snooze a notification for later. This is a very handy feature.

#5. Notification Channels

Android Oreo now has notification channels. This is a very useful feature. It allows you to get some type of notifications while ignoring all others. It literally gives you full control over notifications. For instance, you can turn on notifications for new messages or calls and turn off any other useless notification.

#6. Smart Text Selection

Another new feature on Android Oreo is the Smart Text Selection. The OS will now determine what type of text you highlight. It will determine the context of the text. For example, if you have highlighted a phone number, the system will give you the option to call it directly and if you have selected an address, the system will show Google Maps. Other options will have a simple web search. We feel that this option will get expanded over time.

#7. Battery Optimization

There are many under the hood updates with Oreo but this is worth mentioning. Android has re-optimized how background tasks will operate. Introduction of Android Vitals will now keep a check on the applications that run in the background and drain battery. While the phone is idle, every app will have a window to perform. It will optimize applications, optimize battery and optimize Android.

#8. Autofill API

Autofill API is the new feature that has got everyone to talk. This brings all other password managers to a rest. It will give all the applications that use user-id and password a better access. With this feature, all the details including passwords can be easily filled in. You just need to store all your passwords in your Google Account, and you are done. This feature will make lazy people lazier.

#9. OKAY Google

The Google Assistant is best in the class. With Android Oreo though, it gets much better. This update brings better responses, better results, and optimizations. You can now select the apps during which you want the Voice assistant and during which you do not.

#10. Internal Updates

The major work done with Android Oreo is under the hood. It now supports many color gamuts. This update also brings the bunch of new Bluetooth codecs that allows you to connect to the latest and the most high-end Bluetooth audio devices. There are many storage and security optimizations also.

Wrapping up, I myself can’t wait for the New Oreo update. Can you?
